Evaporation

Chem Process supplies Evaporation, Distillation, Rectification, Vacuum and Crystallization process technologies and systems and it has the expertise in the design, engineering, fabrication, and testing of systems for the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Food, Dairy, and Beverage industries, as well as environmental applications.

Until now some companies have had experience with food products, some with chemical products, some with effluents. But no single company has been able to display such diversity in both techniques and process application knowledge as we have been able to assemble in Chem Process.

Evaporator design consists of three principal elements: heat transfer, vapor-liquid separation, and efficient utilization of energy. The superior expertise of Chem Process in Evaporation and Crystallization brings substantial savings by long operational cycles, broad intervals between maintenance operations, purer condensate recoveries, purer salt recoveries, larger quantities of condensate and salts recovered, high energy efficiencies, etc.

The skills of Chem Process are also used to modify and update existing plants to incorporate the latest technological updates, energy efficiencies, improved performance levels, etc.

Evaporation is the process of concentrating a solution and removing the solvent -usually water -as vapor in a pure form.

Evaporation often encroaches upon the operations known as distillation, drying, and crystallization :

  • In evaporation, no attempt is made to separate components of the vapor. This distinguishes evaporation from distillation.

  • Evaporation is distinguished from drying in that the residue is always a liquid. The desired product may be a solid, but the heat must be transferred in the evaporator to a solution or a suspension of the solid in a liquid. The liquid may be highly viscous or a slurry.

  • Evaporation differs from crystallization in that evaporation is concerned with concentrating a solution rather than producing or building crystals.

Chem Process designs and supplies a wide range of Evaporators, both single and multi effect, as skid mounted and standalone units, to meet the changing process needs of various industries.
